I had so much fun chatting with Curt Mercadante, author of Five Pillars of the Freedom Lifestyle. He’s witty, whacky, wise and a wealth of information on how we can cultivate calm presence and enjoy the life we want versus going through the motions. Some guru types are tough; Curt is the real deal and his entrepreneurial spirit and vitality shine through. Vitality is a BIG deal to me at The Nourishment Mindset as I believe it is something so many do not (yet) know.
Curt and I have some crazy stuff in common — in addition to being called “crazy” by others. We both closed our profitable marketing agencies, practice all sorts of what some may call “woo woo” and sold everything to travel the country with our families.
I want to share with y’all an interview with one of my very favorite authors, Dr. Cate Shanahan, who was lovely enough to endorse my book, The Nourishment Mindset. Dr. Cate’s book, Deep Nutrition, is one of the two tomes which helped me heal and ultimately compelled me to close my marketing agency and become a health coach. In this interview with the Healthy Fats Coalition, she rightly states that most meals recommended by nutritionists are akin to a cardboard box; it’s no wonder people are confused and on the verge of giving up! Dr. Cate gives poignant tips on how to seek out real food and why the “secret” to elevated health lies in the past.
***A HUGE thank you to the folks that have rated this podcast! I promised you a complimentary signed book and I want to make good on that promise! If you’re one of these folks on Apple (SandyofCA, Bullwinkle713, Abe Lever, and rmmld03) please email me your name and shipping information: FavorFat@gmail.com.
Finally, I just shipped out signed copies of my book, The Nourishment Mindset. It is available on my website for the worth-the-wait signed copy, or on Amazon. Please share with anyone you know who is looking to elevate his health or improve her relationship with food. My aim was to write an approachable work that would have people laugh, cry and hopefully inspire them to take some simple steps toward vitality. It is all about finding pleasure in real whole foods, abandoning meaningless food math and improving your health while doing so. Oh, and I want to end the diet book genre — “diet” rhymes with “riot,” and that’s the metabolic wrath a diet takes on your body.
